I have a 2017 TE300 with lock-on grips. I cut and scraped off the permanent grips from the tubes (really wish ODI would sell blank lock-on tubes). This left me with tubes with the same OD, so I bought 2 sets of ODI grips and used 2 throttle-side grips to install over the heat elements. My heated grips are removable.

    Am i understanding this correctly?..
1- You bough ODI lock-on grips,
2- removed the ODI rubber grips from the ODI lock-on tube,
3- installed the heaters on the lock-on tube,
4- installed new rubber grips over the heating elements?
Seems like a slick idea in order to remove the heaters from the handlebars. Did you super glue the rubber grips onto the heating elements?

Sold the 2013 450sxf with a sixth gear added and 2016 4CS forks with Del Soggio Sphere inserts.
Picked up a 2018 500exc from Chip and went nuts building it. Put the Sphere forks on it, Ohlins shock, Yosh pipe with a Vortex box and it rips.

Same as doing the throttle tube side, nothing special.

Best idea I've heard in a while. I have an older set of ODI grips I'm going to do this to, thanks.

Yeah but how big is the diameter? I have some Tusk heated grips and the OD is too big for a 2 hour race, causes hand cramps.
