In the old days Chaparral, Dennis Kirk, Kevins Cycle and order with catalog on phone. Then Rocky MTN came along and mostly made the other places obsolete. I still occasionally use Dennis Kirk.

3 things I was able to get at DK that others didn't have at the time or didn't stock at all: Scott OTG light sensitive goggles (RM doesn't stock them) the spark arrestor insert for my FMF (RM was out of stock), and Mojave ITB pants (RM was out of stock). I've had really good luck with DK.

    Caught me by surprise.

Got a order confirmation email at 1133, and got an email saying my order had shipped at 1405.

Only thing is the email says it was shipped UPS and when I click the number it says, "Tracking info is not available at the moment."

If I go the UPS site and enter the number it says, "UPS could not locate the shipment details for this tracking number."

If I enter it on the USPS site it says, "Label Created, not yet in system."

I'm tired of ragging on ChapMoto.

Yep, that's the way to go. Get a tire or some other single item worth more than $50. Seems to work pretty well when you do it that way.

    I've learned my lesson. HAHA

Not sure why this eats at me so much, but it does.

Last year when I had to call Chap as their site said they didn't stock the oil filter, I suggested they add the "this stock number replaces" to their fiche...just like RM did. I imagine that was an update from Yam.

And then yesterday when I called - year later - they still hadn't done it. How many people only shop online, see that "not in stock" and wouldn't even call? Chap would lose a sale becuase they do in fact stock it.

Then when he told me how to find it and add it to my cart, he did the "is there anything else?" and hung up. He basically cut me off. So I did exactly what he said and it didn't work. As mentioned above.

How to shoot yourself in the foot 101.
