The 17 pound weight difference compared to a 300 TPI is noticeable. A 300 TPI will be my next bike once I wear out the 350.
the weight difference for newest models is only 0.4 kg so like only 0.88 lb. Almost same weight.

I only feel the weight difference with my 350exc when picking it up, not riding.
I can see that as another reason the extreme guys go 300. They have to carry them sometimes.

I'm not extreme guy and have to pick it up quite often
as i said static weight almost the same, negligible now.

Some claim though, dynamic weight while moving feels "lighter" on 2t.

The 350EXC mentioned by OP is definitely heavier than a 300 on the scale, approx 20lbs. That's what you notice when picking up.
    Riding.....not so much.

Are you considering the 350excf because you want it street legal? If not I would look into the new 350 xcf-w that are coming back out in 2020. So many complaints about the 350xcf and sxf with no low end, stalling, overheating, no power off the bottom but quite frankly they are not designed for tight single track riding and more for open gncc type riding that's why people always put recluse clutches on them for single track. My 350xcf-w is an older 2013 that apparently is down on power compared to the 2015+ but has none of these issues riding tight single track. No I don't do extreme enduro and have no desire to but do ride a lot of TIGHT single track in the Midwest/Ozark woods. My bike is stock with a JD Tuner on it to eliminate the flame out/stalls and that's it. Coming off my 09 250xcw 2 stroke I feel the 350 climbs easier especially if it's muddy, it feels much more planted without that jittery 2t front end, always hooks up, never overheats with a trailtech fan and engine ice, and I don't shift or use the clutch near as much. I literally feel no difference in weight WHILE RIDING, just picking it up as others have stated. I used to ride 450's but found them too tiring on long days or HS racing and went back to the 250 2t. Being 220lbs I have not ridden a 250f that I didn't have to scream and clutch all the time. The 350 really fills the void for me.

not that I need street legal that much but everybody saying it's harder to sell such bike etc.
Besides I need head lamp etc. I know 350 should have less low end then mine 500 exc but is this so drastic difference?

The Beta 390 has none of those problems and would be the bike for me if I ever went back to a 4 -stroke bike.

That "lack of lower end" is what makes them ride better than a 500 in the tight stuff. That heavy feel of a 500 at low speeds is torque steer being directed through the chassis.

XCF-W will have a headlight or you can buy one off ebay for $25 bucks and simply plug it in. Your just paying for a lot more stuff you will probably remove if you don't care about street legal.

OP said "EXC", not XC or XC-W. The EXC is most definitely heavier than the TPI, by 15-20lbs depending on which scale you believe. If an XC-W would work, then that would be the better choice if weight is a concern.
