Default Advice on what to buy: 2020 TX300i vs 2020 TE300i

Hi all, the time is drawing near when I start looking at buying a new bike. I currently have a 2017 TX300 that is very set up. By far the best bike I have ever owned. I rode with the Aer's for 1.5 years and didn't mind them. Thought they were great at high speeds, and OK in gnarly mountain/singletrack, and didn't really like checking the air pressure all the time. I switched to Dal Soggio spheres that protune set up for me and was in love. Whether desert whoops or rooted/rocky forest, it's just a quick twist of the clickers and go.

Long story short, I've much preferred the TX/XC platform over the TE. It has always seemed more stable and planted. until I rode my dad's 2020 TE300i. The bikes geometry felt identical to my TX's and I felt instantly comfortable. Slow speed, rocky, roots ridding was BETTER on the new stock Xplor and shock than on my set-up Dal Soggio's and re-valved shock. Dal Soggio's were better in the high speed stuff (but I never really got to test it out too well on the 2020 bike).

Has anyone here ridden BOTH the 2020 TX and TE 300i's? Anyone that used to have a preference for the TX switch over to the TE? Have the AER's improved as much as the Xplor?

    THANKS!

Wellwhat you felt is probably due to the geometry changes to the TE in 2020. They dropped the rear travel to 300 like the TX. I think it was 330. The bikes are definitely more similar than in the past.

None! I spent the money on maintaining my current bike. I'm glad I didn't buy new right now, as I just lost my job from covid19.
