Pro Tune told me $1K for Lucky, I think the Dal Soggio are double that.

After talking to protune I'm even more torn now. Corey told me that the AERs are very good with a simple revalve. If I'm absolutely against air forks(which I'm not) then the closed cartridge is the best bang for the buck. The luckys and sss inserts are 400 more than the closed cartridges but he said that they are not$ 400 more of performance. Dal soggio is a couple hundred more than the luckys and sss. He also said that nothing is magic. Each one has strong points and weaknesses.
I can normally get pretty comfortable with stock suspension but after coming across such a good deal on the ohlins shock now I feel like I should go all in on the forks just because. I'm stopping at my local ohlins dealer today and will see what they say.

I was very very happy with Lucky kit on my FE350 2014 2 years ago at ~$1k otd (replaced horrid 4CS guts, versus spending up to that to modify the original bits?).
Having had good experience, I'm planning to do same on 2019 TE300i XPlorers at some point, perhaps buy through Slavens for his prescribed "Mule" setup.
I would recommend having MXtech prescribe the rear shock setup to match (valving/spring rate) to your suspension dealer/installer if not buying/servicing direct from MXTech, when buying Lucky kit. That's my only complaint on the FE, in that the ride & handling while much improved with Luckys, is still somewhat unbalance front-to-back to the point clicker and preload fiddling is just not getting it there-- I never had rear shock revalved at the time, will be doing on next boinger service to come.
    Hope this helps.

Jeremy at MX Tech is a marvel when it comes to creating new suspension designs, however his valving set up seems to be pretty far off. I was ready to throw away my luckys after a few tries by mx tech. As a last resort I sent them to Cory at protune and they are now magic. They are everything I thought they would be when I first got them from MX Tech. Just saying...

BTW the Dal Soggios from Cory are $1500 installed.

Do you prefer the Luckys over the Dal Soggios?

For off road the Luckys are just great, for MX I prefer the dal soggios. They have better coatings and have a no feel ride, i.e you can't feel the front wheel they are so smooth, even more so than a good set of kyb's. . I like to have feel when doing off road. One more note about MXTech, for whatever reason their forks seem off but the national shock from them is perfect! Can't understand how that is...

I am impressed by how much better lucky inserts work than the stock xplor Forks on a 2018 300 X CW. It handles the big hits so much better. I find the lucky inserts real comfortable and very confidence inspiring. Easy to install, just open the outer tube top and bottom, replace inserts and add oil.

Well, after lots of thought I decided to get the ohlins rfx48 forks. I got a smoking deal on them and I have a tuner a mile away who will help me dial them in. Thanks everyone for the replies
