    Default KTM 350 2012 cylinder head and camshaft wear, what to do.

    Hello guys,

    Long story short, I'v done a top end (not my first time) and I forgot under the piston a paper tissue, a reallyyyyy big mistake. It has been broken in small pieces and covered the oil screen, no oil went trough and one of the camshaft has jammed, went free when it cooled down, cleaned everything, just a few small scratches on camshaft and camshaft seating. Went for a ride, 30km+, some residues of that tissue remain, covered oil screen again, camshaft jammed again, now comes the problem, the seating has melted. I have no play (yet) at the camshaft, camshaft turns quite normal, what should I do? Change cylinder head, make new seating, make new lining with graphite bronze?

    Time for a new head or contact Travis at Thumper racing, he might be able to fix. Mine did the same thing, make sure oil passages are clear and also look at the plastic oil pump gears, mine was missing a couple teeth.
