I've got a 2020 Sherco 300SE and I'll say this, the bike handles great, its engine power is really everything you could want. likely somewhat due to the electronic PV. Add in the hot button and its a total fire breather. Comes stock with fan and radiator overflow tank for hard enduro type riding. KYB's and suspension is very good out of the box. Roomy chassis front to back.

Components are on par with any other bike out today -maybe better than most. Really excellent components. FMF, Brembo, Excell, Neken Billet clamps (KTM's are Cast alum. then machined), custom Italian seat, quick release seat (nice feature), TwinAir, Galfer discs, AXP thick plastic skid plate, Polisport plastic & lever shields, etc.

The bike makes deceptive power that is due to smoothness and strong torque numbers.

Downsides to me... 1.)it does have extra weight, I think (not sure ) it is around 15 lbs plus over others. Once rolling along I donot notice it. If I drop it I notice it. 2.) Engine vibration- Once my hands are warmed up and loose I donot notice it but its there (for those sensitive to this). The 2021 has a balancer now and they chose to locate it up high which I am told is the best place to put it.

A friend did his first top end at 380 hours and although I can't send the pics now, it really looked not that bad but still 380 = not what one should wait for.

I think its in the running as one of the top world class bikes.

50 hrs on my 2019 Sherco 300 SE factory. Love it. Bike turns on a dime. I used to prefer riding my KTM 200 as opposed to my KTM 300. Now I ride the Sherco most of the times. It may weigh more but it handles and feels as if it does not. The cockpit ergonomics are awesome and the Suspension is good out of the box. Except for handguards, Skidplate and smaller pilot jet, I have not had to do anything on it since new.
If Sherco builds a robust dealership network in future, it can be a top seller.

The IRC tire guy was switching from a Husky to Sherco, he has a vid on it. He seemed pretty stoked with the switch and listed the pros on the Sherco. Again tho sponsorship.

Thanks for your review. Yeah 15 lb is considerable weight but the bike comes with a real pipe (Gnarly), skid plate, rad fan & overflow thank PLUS the close to 3 lb Sherco claims they shaved for 2021 that in theory should put it close in weight to at least the Husky 300. Not bad.

I see only positives, specially with those KYB under the bike lol

There was a brand spankin' new Sherco at the staging area a few weeks back. Darn that bike was a looker. Didn't investigate with year or model it was, but it was a two stroke. My thoughts on Sherco from afar:

KYB, yes. I'm soooo interested! I had an Italian Husky 150WR with KYB forks and Sachs shock, and it's probably the best suspension out of the box I've had yet.

The dealer network 'could' be an issue, but I think these boutique brands know what they have to bring to the table in order to sit there. Heck, I bought my first KTM in 1984... doubtful Sherco parts are as hard to get as those parts were. Fortunately, the new bikes don't break with the same willingness that the old bikes did.

Finally, if you 'must' stay with whatever your current favorite brand, 'your' brand will only get better as brands like Beta and Sherco are nipping away. So, THANK YOU SHERCO for doing such a nice job.

it be nice to knoww the truth, plus they were riding the 4 strokes, I dont know much about Sherco's 4T although their World Enduro team riders ride them.

That last GNCC was a dust bowl, wouldnt it be prudent to use a dust skin cover (or 2)over the filter in a race like that!!??

Maybe even change the filter? I think they're doing reliability testing.
