    Let's clarify something.... do the bushings wear at all times..... or only while your cranking it? In a typical 1 hour ride, how much of that hour is spinning the starter? Is something else is going on here???? I used to change my bushings often.... because consensus here at one time blamed the starter issues to the bushings. Since I have had a change of mind, I now have reused some that I had previously removed. [Freeride and XCW] Actually, I have yet to be able to see visually any wear on any of them. LOL, I have even now reinstalled a Bendix and crown wheel that was removed as a maintenance precaution.

    I have yet to ever replace mine on my Husky. Maybe I should do that someday.

    How do you remove them in a condition to use them again?

    I used a new sharp drill bit to bite into them and allow me to remove them. But the 'bite' marks meant that they were now unusable.

    I replaced mine after 4 years, but they all looked fine.
