With boots you get what you pay for IMO.

They are not new, actually a returning model. They were in their line, went away, and now are (thankfully) back. They replace the React boot in Gaerne's line, which was not very good IMO, it had a weird fit and hinge design.

The Fastback uses a few plastic pieces from the SG-10. It is a good boot for fit, protection, and durability, ESPECIALLY compared to the soft bonded sole models that are so popular these days.

    Ahem.

FYI the magic price point in the boots segment is $300 - $350. IMO the Fastback is the best model at that price point.

I agree that boots are the piece of gear you should stretch budget on (even more than helmets IMO) and the SG-12 is my favorite boot overall. But budgets are real, and people often do not want to do that. This is why people will buy boots from Europe that do not have a warranty. Usually, they lose their minds if they have a problem.

    Hope that helps.

Appreciate everyone’s help. I’m currently bootless so needed something pretty quick. I ended up going with the Forma Predator. Atomic had a couple colors as close outs making them under $300. Will see how they work out.

Wow, some good deals there. I have Sidi Crossfire TA from 2012, it looks like they are Crossfire 3 now. The toe box looks slimmer.
I wear 10 in work boots, 11 in my old Sidi with thick socks. Anybody know if new Sidis still run a little small.

Yeah and then there is a thread about how they need real boots after they already broke something. My question is how long can you afford to be out of work because you cheaped out on boots.

Thanks for this info. The price differential up to SG10s isn't crazy so I'll likely stick to what's tried and true.

For me, they have always ran a little narrow. I have narrow feet so no biggie.

I have had my foot pulled, tried to be folded under my peg by a stump with my Sidi TA's on. It ended up pulling my toe clip off, but once it hit the hard stop on the ankle rotation my foot came right off the stump and I kept going. The sole did not let my foot bend under either. I have had a few instances similar to that and have always been protected with my Sidi's on. I am with you, the ankle is nothing to muck with. It is a complicated joint.

Fed Ex delivered the boots yesterday (Forma Predator 2.0), wow these things are substantial! More akin to my ski boots then a lot of moto boots. Looking forward to Trying them out!
