Most of the TPIs seem very clean and crisp on the bottom but for some reason less torquey. The mid range just seems mapped incorrectly/off on many of them that I've ridden. Maybe the powervalve being screwed in a couple turns doesn't help either?
Thats good to know. So it may be more stall resistant from counterbalancer and not necessarily TPI.

Iím from Pennsylvania. Iíve been without a dirt bike for the past two years since moving to the west coast of Florida. So I havenít ridden at Croom, but I definitely will. Iíve raced some of the Florida trail riders hare scrambles and GNCCs at Palatka. So yeah definitely familiar with whooped out sand! Canít wait to get back to riding again! I love the big sandy bowl turns too. Single track with all the palmetto roots. I enjoy the Florida terrain. No steep hill climbs though

Maybe. But it's not like 250/300's have been stall prone in the past either. My 14 250W rarely stalls, and if it does, it is my fault. The exception, and a place TPI shines, is on closed throttle down hills. The carbed bikes tend to want to stall on those. But since there is no float bowl on a TPI, it's a complete non-issue for them.

I would say the 17+ carb bikes are a little more resistant to stalling than the older bikes, but the TPI is a little more stall resistant yet. Not that any of them are easy to stall, just something I've noticed.

The 2020 TX300i I rode felt the best of any of them on bottom/off idle. Absolutely perfect but just ran like garbage in the mid with a studder. My carb bike feels way better mid to top than any of the TPIs I've ridden but it isn't quite as flawless off the bottom. Its good but that is where the TPI shines IMO. That being said, I wouldn't trade my carb bike for a TPI until the mapping is better and/or reliability is more proven. I would like to ride a 2020 250 TPI to compare though.

FWIW the Mikuni is fine. I threw on a Keihin I got for really cheap with the JD kit. I didn't notice much of a difference..

I'm sure people will choose TPI over a carbed bike in the long run. But I doubt there will ever be a $2k difference for a similar year (carb vs TPI) when used.

Unfortunately the advertisement for the new 19 300 XC was a bait and switch tactic and the used 19 300 XC on craigslist has sold.

So now I'm considering a 19 250 XC-W @ $7,399. Price is a factor and with only 4 hare scrambles left until October I may just hold out for a deal on 2020 300. I don't think I can stomach 10k for a dirt bike.

I do think I'd be happy on the 19 250 XC-W, only concern would be the Xplor forks.

I used to live in Florida, for me the XC was definitely better than the XC-W with the slightly tighter gear spacing, and the suspension was much better stock for whoops while still handling roots.
