    Default Load Testing Lithium Batteries

Can you load test a lithium battery without damaging it?
I have the cheap Harbor Freight load tester. Not the better carbon pile type.
I've been afraid to try it.
Maybe there is a special load tester for lithium batteries?

    Call the batterystuff folks. https://www.batterystuff.com/

I bought a batt from them and they schooled me on a lot of stuff...great folks.

    Thanks
They sell this battery tracker. Analyzes the battery, but it is kinda big.

I would think you could load test it. It would be a pretty crappy battery technology if you couldn't. Think about cordless drill batteries that get used until they die. But I dont know the for sure answer. Cam.

No reason you cannot load test it, just like a normal battery. What you don't want to do is totally discharge it. Which a load test will not do.

Just follow the indications.. Set discharge rate C1 to appropriate rate- Set it to cut off at X voltage specified by batt manufacturer. Note Minutes, calculate percentage of capacity-
