Thread: Servicing and lowering Ohlins shock

Default Servicing and lowering Ohlins shock

I want to service and lower the shock on my wifeís 2009 200xc. I am familiar with and have all the tools to do a wp shock but not the Ohlins. My race tech nitrogen tool does not fit the Ohlins. Can you use the race tech bolt on the Ohlins or is it different Thread size/pitch? What about lowering spacers? I would like to lower about 1.5Ē. Where can I get spacers if I donít want to make it? Also not sure what tool to use to get seal head out.
    any advice is appreciated.

You don't mention what Ohlins you have mine use a standard Schrader valve as in all tube's.

I need to look up the part number. It is a TTX from 2010 I believe. It has a Allan head bolt in the bottom of the reservoir like the wp but I donít want to remove it to check thread size and lose charge.

On my TTX flow the allen is covering a self sealing rubber plug that you use a needle to drain and recharge. I used the Race Tech spacers to lower mine, they fit perfectly.

The bolt just covers the rubber you use the needle on. It wont discharge if you remove it.

I have have also used the RaceTech spacers to make the 410.5 length Ohlins TTX fit the older 405mm bikes. You need the 16mm shaft sizes.

I can measure when I get home but do you happen to know the shaft diameter?

Thanks, I measured it at 16mm before I saw this post. I ordered the spacers and a new bottom out bumper.
