That said, I would pay a lot more for a small(same size) metal filter that was certified to run 50+PSI. Till then, I will for sure keep a large surface area filter just in front of my injector and monitor the Fuel Pressure every 100 hours.
I've been running the Earls Vaporguard 10 micron filter for awhile now without issue. Billet housing and sintered bronze element rated for 100psi. Only slightly larger than the Mahle. Have about 1200 miles on it so far. I run a pressure check before every major trip. Did one yesterday - 52 psi.

Running the tank low on fuel will greatly reduce the life of the pump. When they get low they cavitate as the fuel sloshes around, fuel is the lubrication and coolant for the pump.

I agree running that pump running out of fuel is not good for it, lubrication and cooling wise, but ive run out of gas several times early in my bikes life, and yet Im still running the original 1100 hour fuel pump.

Finally got my new pump here and in.. noticeable performance difference. Tested it before removing.. 26psi.. ran ok.. but not crisp. Still started ok.. new quantum pump. 50 psi.. crisper response. Better starting. Overall.. it needed it- was on borrowed time.
