Bark you have been given some good advice,,,,listen to it. At fifty you are just a spring chicken, don't make your future worse than necessary due to being hard headed----like me. The longer you wait with this type injury you are risking a much worse fix and lower pct of healing. I fully understand not wanting to miss great events but it just doesn't make sense to wait.

I should have fixed mine 10 years earlier than I did. Would have healed quicker when I was younger and the quality of life is much better now.

I appreciate everyone's advice, and I will consider it. I need to go back through my MRI to remember what kind of tear I have. I have always benefited from alternative therapy when ortho docs told me I needed surgery. In 2003 I crush fractured 3 vertebres in a bad mx crash, I was told all kinds of things, $1m surgeries $$$ etc. I wore my brace for a few weeks and took my MRIs to a young chiropractor. He fixed me through progressive adjustments and excercises over a few months, and I was back racing stronger than before. with 0 surgery. I have had few issues with that section of back since as long as I stay in decent shape. My left knee has degenerative issues (I'm 50 and have been racing for 20 years) and I have very little cartilage at the fulcrum of tibia and femur, 5 years ago an ortho $$$ told me I needed a knee replacement, period. Another suggested stem cell injections and I went for it, they cured my pain, to this day. My shoulder isnt that bad, it will get worse if I crash on it again, at that point it will be over and I will have to get surgery. For now, I am going to try Platelet rich plasma injections, yeah, another thing no one has heard of but thats how I roll. Reject big Pharma and the lies of US medicine, much of it is ******** and profit driven. I seek out Chinese healers and herb shops when I can, they dont need doctors. We will see how it goes.

Yeah, I have heard of PRP.

My mom (RIP) had it done about six years ago In a very troublesome knee

Very effective, she got 100% relief of pain but it was only for a few months.

The pain returned about the same as before

TP is very important for a shoulder injury.
