The van is for overnight trips (long or short) and/or situations where I want or need some added security over a locked bike in my truck bed. Btw my van doesnít have any sweet rims or moto Stickers to advertise its use. I know itís not perfect but I figure out of site out of mind for at least *most* crooks. It is more of a ďcamperĒ van first, moto van second, as I will spend far more nights sleeping in the thing than the bike ever will, but it has the capability to hide the bike away when needed. Like I said in my first post on this thread, I struggled for years to justify a dedicated moto van, but once I got the road trip camper concept going (use for me AND the wife) it made a lot more sense and has been worth every penny so far. The little lady even agrees, which was not a guarantee going in.

At TORCS race waiting for Son to start
    Please excuse typos etc.
Before I pull the final trigger on this 6.0 L van How do I make sure it does not have active Cylinder management, ACM?
    Thanks Andrew

Unless something has changed in recent years, none of the express vans have that cylinder shut off system like the Silverado/Tahoe/suburban

5.3 had it but the Van versions don't if I recall. 6.0 is a basic, solid Engine.

Yes sir Don. He rode so well. Led Open A from start to the last lap, when a rear spoke broke and got into the brakes and wiped out the pads.
He came in and changed rear wheels and went back to finish.

I think you see him out at Zars occasionally.
    Thanks Don,

    Cactus and KTM64,
Thank you. My son has the Silverado 5.3, which has the ACM. Although he has not had issues with it, he doesn't seem to care for it.
    Thanks again.

I had an '07 5.3 Silverado with the cylinder shut off. A valve lifter failed at around 110K, I liked the truck so I spent a heap and just replaced all the lifters and associated parts figuring I'd get another 100K+ out of the truck but had another lifter fail about 3k miles later while driving halfway between home and palm springs. That got fixed under warranty but put a real bad taste in my mouth after having to be without my truck for so long so I sold it. Low oil pressure, and oil consumption seemed to be the issue in those. I know they've made improvements in recent years, but I still wouldn't go out of my way to get an engine with that system, especially with the pretty meager MPG improvements.
