You need this system, TPI mk2.

Sort of. I mean yes you can but its not cheap and you will need to modify your cylinder. This is the system I tried to get TM to use but they decided not to in the end.
Throttle Body injection will work but it will never work cleanly. TPI is the answer and mk2 is just better fuel control again.
Im supposed to be presenting a YZ125 to a customer soon with mk2 TPI, although this has been set back a little now due to covid19. Note, this is NOT for Yamaha but they will be watching Im told.

A balance shaft for the 500 would be a good thing.

The ECU I use is $1700 NZD alone and you will need an extra ignition ECU ( ignitech) as the LINK ecu wont support a CDI and you do need a CDI. So yes things cost. This is all one off prototype stuff, not production where price will come way down.

Wow that sounds like a Lot of work. Probably more than I would want to do.

But a counter balancer would be SWEET

Are there any dyno comparisons on the TPI - stock vs aftermarket head? Specifically the AFR? I don’t really understand how it wouldn’t run lean... or is it just “leaner” and the stock fueling has some wiggle room?

Yes--- There is a range of power increase where the fueling won't be excessively lean. When you start combining the power valve adjustment with a higher compression head the gains become more significant, and at that point we start seeing lean running conditions. The power valve changes can add more than 20% to the power and torque in the upper rpm range.
