If you are a DIY guy you can fix the Xplor forks for less than $200.00 by converting them to what are essentially 2014 OC forks. Here are the instructions on what is needed: https://ktmtalk.com/showthread.php?5...t=instructions

    I saw you mentioned that.

My 2014 Sherco had the same WP open chamber forks as an XC-W and I didn't care for those either. Same mushy feeling although maybe a little better than these Xplor forks.

I will say the AERs feel a lot plusher than the bladder forks on my 2011 300 XC.

The W / EXC have always been mushy and / or harsh. Usually too much MV float.
The XC typically are on the stiff side for technical trails. Usually decent MV just needs less shims all around.

IMO, they all need a revalve to suit rider and conditions. Another vote for Corey, he made my OC and CC forks better.

Mine were revalved by Dick's racing by the previous owner and I always thought they were harsh. Rode my buddy's 12 redone by RG3 I thought and they were great.

So, that is another option. Get a set of bladder forks. Probably need the front axle but that doesn't bother me.

Everyone seems to think that these Xplor forks can be fixed.

Can you get them to stay up in the stroke like the AER or CC forks do?

Any fork will work. There is not one fork "better" than another. It is the tuner that can make it good or bad. You already own the xplor fork and it is the correct length for your chassis. I raced an xplor fork on my 2017 300XC in 50 plus A for two years and I won many races.
Depending on your budget, you can get the fork working good for about $275 at Check Point Off Road with valving and adding a base adjuster. For about $1500 Kreft Moto can add his revalve control which makes the fork more versatile by allowing you to change the mid valve with a clicker. I also have this fork and it works as advertised. I also have the Kreft AER fork with mid valve control. This fork has a little firmer feel at the top of the stroke than the Kreft Xplor fork. I have the latest WP Xact spring cone valve fork and I also have a KYB spring insert fork. All of these forks can work good or bad depending on the tuner.

I feel confident in my local guy (Deja Moto).

I actually feel like my XC-W works way better with the AERs and their length. Seems like the Xplor are too short.
