Asking for a friend who's a mech at a dealer (they will be contacting KTM asap).

So apparently all their newly shipped 390s (Dukes and Advs) swingarms have a lateral play of 1/8". This is his description of the assembly:

There are adjusting nuts on either side to keep the inner races tight. The swingarm pivot and nut tighten against the jamb nuts. The swingarm and outer races are free to slide side to side.

So it appears it's not a lack of preload on the swingarm axle, because none is designed into assembly? I'm wondering if they just have sloppy tolerances, or are missing shims? No one including me feels that much play is acceptable. Thoughts?
