Iíd just use what Kraft used if you were happy with it, if you canít find it check the chart that ken posted the link for, and use the closest oil to that thatís readily available. During this COVID thing finding things I need is getting harder.

Who knows what 5wt means? KYB 01 has a cST (at 40c) of 15.60 which puts in right in the middle of the oils I think of as 5wt.

Good point Ken. 5wt covers a large range of oils. KYB 01M isnít marked as 5wt though.

Whatís the difference in CST and viscosity (wt?).

Pour the KYB and say some Silkolene 5wt and they appear very different. KYB is closer to water and Silkolene is much thicker. They certainly feel different if used in the same fork.

That's definitely the plan. I was just hoping to be able to replace most of the oil without completely disassembling the forks. IE, Unscrew the top cap and dump.

01M is a thinner oil. More like a 3-4wt not 5. Itís great for using on an over damped fork on 5wt but putting it in a fork with little damping already then it might get very springy indeed. Itís really great performance oil though. I use it in my cone valves and sphere. Gives a great supple and fast reacting ride. Itís not cheap though.

Thanks for that Ken. I think I can find Motorex 2.5wt pretty esily which is close to the Motorex 15wt that's currently in there. Hopefully if I just dump, measure and replace with 2.5wt I will get close to the KYB 01 wt oil.
